Our 17-4PH Stainless Steel Round Bar is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel that combines high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and good mechanical properties. This chromium-nickel-copper alloy can be heat-treated to achieve a range of strength levels, making it ideal for applications requiring both durability and resistance to corrosive environments. Our 17-4PH bars are manufactured to the highest standards, ensuring consistent performance in aerospace, medical, oil and gas, and general engineering applications.
Core Characteristics
Strength-Toughness Balance
After precipitation hardening, the steel achieves a tensile strength of 1100-1400 MPa and a hardness of 33-44 HRC, maintaining a certain degree of toughness. The strength and toughness can be adjusted through various aging processes (e.g., H900 and H1150).
Corrosion Resistance
Superior to ordinary martensitic stainless steel, it can withstand mild atmospheres, fresh water, and mildly corrosive media, but weaker than 304/316 austenitic stainless steel.
Easy Machining
17-4PH Stainless Steel Round Bar is easy to cut, forge, and weld. Post-weld heat treatment restores strength, making them suitable for precision machining.
