Product Introduction

Our Super duplex 2507 pipe is a high-performance super-duplex stainless steel with a yield strength of at least 450 MPa and a tensile strength of at least 620 MPa. It is widely used in ammonia-containing environments, such as the petroleum and chemical industries. We offer a variety of 2507 stainless steel specifications, ranging from 0.26 mm to 80 mm, and can be customized to meet various industrial needs. This material has a smooth surface, a first-grade quality rating, and utilizes a cold-drawn production process to ensure stable performance. Please contact us for more information on Super duplex 2507 pipe and application examples.

Key Features

Exceptional Strength

Very high yield strength (≥ 550 MPa), approximately twice that of 316L, allowing for reduced wall thickness and weight savings.

Superior Corrosion Resistance

Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking (SCC), and erosion-corrosion, particularly in chloride-rich and sour (H₂S) environments.

High Alloy Content

Elevated levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen enhance performance in extreme conditions.

Cost-Effective Alternative

Provides a more economical solution compared to nickel-based alloys like Inconel in many severe applications.

Applications of Super duplex 2507 pipe

Oil & Gas

Subsea pipelines, downhole tubing, pressure vessels, and manifolds in sour and high-chloride environments.

Chemical Processing

Reactors, heat exchangers, and piping systems handling highly corrosive acids and chlorides.

Desalination Plants

High-pressure RO pipes, heat exchangers, and brine handling systems.

Marine and Offshore

Seawater cooling systems, propeller shafts, and offshore platform components.

Pollution Control

Flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems and scrubbers.

Fabrication Notes

Welding:

Use matching super duplex filler metals (e.g., ER2594) and carefully control heat input to maintain the austenite-ferrite balance and avoid secondary phase formation.

Heat Treatment:

Solution annealing at 1020–1100°C (1868–2012°F) followed by rapid quenching is essential to optimize microstructure and corrosion resistance.

Machining:

Requires more power than austenitic grades; use rigid setups, positive rake tools, and adequate cooling.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between Super Duplex 2507 and Duplex 2205?

A: Super Duplex 2507 has higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content, providing superior corrosion resistance and mechanical strength compared to Duplex 2205.

Q: What is the maximum service temperature?

A: Maximum continuous service temperature is 300°C. Prolonged exposure above 300°C may lead to embrittlement.

Q: Is post-weld heat treatment required?

A: Generally not required when using proper welding procedures and matching filler metals. Solution annealing may be required for certain applications.

Q: What is the PREN value of Super Duplex 2507?

A: PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) is typically ≥42, calculated as %Cr + 3.3×%Mo + 16×%N.

Q: Can you provide large-diameter pipes?

A: Yes, we can supply Super Duplex 2507 pipes up to 24" NB in welded construction.
