Product Introduction

C17300 Beryllium Copper (also known as Alloy M25) is a high-performance copper alloy containing 1.80-2.00% beryllium with added lead for improved machinability. This precipitation-hardenable alloy offers an exceptional combination of high strength, excellent conductivity, and superior machining characteristics. Our C17300 products are manufactured to meet the most demanding specifications for precision components in aerospace, electronics, and industrial applications.

Key Advantages

Excellent Machinability – 80% machinability rating (free-cutting brass = 100%)

High Strength – Tensile strength up to 1380 MPa in age-hardened condition

Good Electrical Conductivity – 22-28% IACS (depending on temperature)

Superior Fatigue Resistance – Excellent performance under cyclic loading

Non-Sparking Properties – Safe for use in explosive environments

Excellent Wear Resistance – Ideal for bearing and wear applications

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the main advantage of C17300 over C17200?

A: C17300 contains added lead (0.20-0.60%), which significantly improves machinability while maintaining similar mechanical properties.

Q: Is C17300 RoHS compliant?

A: Yes, C17300 Beryllium Copper is exempt from RoHS restrictions for lead content under specific applications where no substitute exists.

Q: What safety precautions are needed when machining C17300?

A: Machining requires proper ventilation and dust collection to prevent inhalation of beryllium and lead-containing particles.

Q: Can C17300 be welded?

A: Welding is not recommended due to the lead content, which can cause hot cracking. Brazing or soldering are preferred joining methods.

Q: What is the maximum service temperature?

A: C17300 can be used continuously up to 250°C, with short-term exposure to 300°C possible.
