Product Introduction

C17200 Beryllium Copper (also known as Alloy 25) is a high-performance copper alloy containing 1.80-2.00% beryllium, offering an exceptional combination of strength, conductivity, and fatigue resistance. This precipitation-hardenable alloy achieves the highest strength of any commercial copper-base alloy while maintaining good electrical and thermal conductivity. Our C17200 products are manufactured to meet the most demanding specifications for aerospace, electronics, and industrial applications.

Key Advantages

Exceptional Strength – Highest strength of all copper alloys (up to 1500 MPa)

Good Electrical Conductivity – 22-28% IACS (depending on temperature)

Excellent Fatigue Resistance – Superior performance under cyclic loading

Outstanding Formability – Easy to fabricate in an annealed condition

Non-Sparking Properties – Safe for use in explosive environments

Heat Treatment and Processing Characteristics

1

Solution Treatment: Hold at 860–880°C, then rapidly cool to room temperature to dissolve Be in the Cu matrix.

2

Aging: Heat at 300–330°C for 2–4 hours to precipitate the γ′ phase, significantly improving strength and hardness.

3

Cold and Hot Working: C17200 beryllium copper exhibits excellent cold-working ductility and good hot-working properties, making it suitable for stamping, extrusion, and deep drawing to form complex precision parts.

4

Machining: Due to its relatively high hardness, carbide tools and high-efficiency coolants are recommended. High-speed cutting can improve efficiency.
